Summary and Suggestion
Mabuhay My Lovely
Readers!!
Hello!! Welcome back to
Cyntia’s amazing blog
This is my last story
of my blog. I’m sad that my journey in USJ-R is done huhu
I’ve done one month in
University Of San Jose – Recoletos for my practicum. This is my best experience
in my life. I’m so grateful for getting a chance to be student teacher exchange
in abroad. How lucky I am, I can join
this precious program. Now it’s time for me to tell you readers about what I got
during my practicum
1.1 Purposes of Practicum
The SEA – Teacher
project or “Pre-service student teacher exchange in Southeast Asia” aims to provide opportunity for pre-service
student teacher from Universities in Southeast Asia to have teaching experience
in school in other countries in Southeast Asia.
And for me, Purposes of my
practicum is to practice my skill in teaching especially English subject so I
can be professional teacher in the future and improve my ability in English,
also to get more knowledge about life, education, culture and language in other
countries.
1.2 Procedure of Practicum
The SEA – Teacher
project has one month period. The first week, we have Orientation week ( The
time to know more about how’s the school, what’s the facilities, and etc), The
second week is Observation ( first time, Get into the class and see how’s the
strategy, method of the teacher to handle the class), The third week is
Teaching assistan ( Help the teacher to handle the class, checking and recorded
students’ scores, etc) , The forth or the last week is the time to do teaching
demonstrations or teaching practice.
My Coorperative teacher,
Ma’am Davide told me to make Lesson plan before start to teach. She also gave
me time to chose the material. I chose about Narrative Paragraph . She checked
my lesson plan one day before my teaching practice day. I did it well. She said
that I had a nice plan and congrats me, she’s excited to see me in the
classroom haha yes.
1.3 Outcomes of practicum
I joined this SEA – Teacher
, many outcomes that I get :
- I get more knowledge about their education and culture
- My ability in English is more improve
- I become more confident in speaking in front of people
- I know how to manage the class ( The strategy, method, etc)
- I get to know how the curriculum, Lesson plan and their lessons based on Philippines education
1.4 The challenges of practicum
My challenges of practicum
is when I taught them. Yes, it was when I did my teaching practices. I had to
master the lesson and gave the best explaination to them. The students are so
smart and even their English is higher than me. I can through it very well. I
believe in myself and I get the best result from my CT. The students are really
supporting me.
1.5 Overall impression
I have all best impression in University of San Jose –
Recoletos Basak Campus, Cebu,
Philippines. They are so kind, friendly and really helpful. I feel so
comfortable to stay there, the comfortable dormitory, good accommodation are
all provided by USJ-R. The teachers and
students are also supporting and helping me during one month period. They
always smile and say “Hi miss” when I met them outside of the class. I’m so
happy to hear it. All of them in USJ-R are so respect to us. I feel like part
of their family in here, I really enjoy .
1.6 Suggestions for future improvement
My suggestion for future improvement to SEAMEO SEA
– Teacher project is I hope
that it’s better if all of countries (beside Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand)
in SouthEast Asia can join this project too, so they can get chance to have
experience like us. Learn more languages, education and cultures are really
amazing. SEAMEO please keep doing this project❤
To The SEA – Teacher
project, University Of Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara and University of
San Jose – Recoletos, Because of you I could catch my dream to be student
exchange. I can get new experiences in Education, especially in teaching in
abroad. This is really challenging for me, I’m glad I can through it very well.
I’m so grateful I can be chose as delegates of SEA – Teacher
Batch 8 from Indonesia. Thankyou so much ♥ Terima Kasih ♥ Daghang Salamat♥
